About The Position

Interns at Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines & Horizon Air join teams throughout different departments and work on visible projects that impact our guests and business. This internship is for summer 2026. Our internships are full-time for 12 weeks, and we offer two program timelines to align with different academic calendars. This internship will be located in SeaTac, WA. If not already in the internship city, candidates will be required to relocate for the duration of the internship.

Requirements

• Working toward a Bachelor's degree in professional aviation or a related field, with a focus on becoming a pilot.
• Private Pilot license with 50 hours minimum flight time.
• Familiarity with pilot carts (Jeppesen charts).
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
• Must have achieved a junior or higher academic standing at the time of application.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Support Flight Operations department as assigned.
• Assist Chief Pilot Office with tasks and projects.
• Assist with training department curriculum and instructional presentations.
• Assist with delay meetings and reports.
• Assist technical pilots with test flights.
• Participate in simulator flying or observation and special projects.
• Assist with engineering projects related to weight and balance or performance analysis.
• Help coordinate and participate in special demonstration flights of new technology or procedures.
