About The Position

The Pilot Instructor delivers classroom and simulator-based C-5 pilot training in accordance with the C-5 Training System Performance Work Statement (PWS) and applicable Air Force standards. Training includes aircraft systems, normal and emergency procedures, and mission-specific operations. Requirements

• Previously qualified as a C-5 AMP/C-5M Aircraft Commander
• Flight experience: o 1,000 C-5 flight hours, or o 500 C-5 flight hours and 1,200 total flight hours (TFT) in mobility aircraft.
• Graduate of a formal instructor pilot course.
• Minimum of 200 C-5 Instructor Pilot hours.
• Associates degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required Secret security clearance.
• Knowledge of C-5 operations, systems, instruction, or maintenance as applicable.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Conduct academic and simulator instruction for pilot initial, transition, requalification, and continuation training.
• Operate simulator instructor stations, introduce malfunctions, and manage training profiles and scenarios.
• Evaluate student performance, provide detailed debriefs, and complete required training records and documentation.
• Support flight evaluations, remedial training, and instructor standardization activities.
• Assist with courseware review, safety initiatives, and updates to training materials and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
