About The Position

The Pilot Car Driver plays a critical role in guiding heavy haul vehicles through construction zones, highways, and other transport routes while maintaining communication with drivers and site personnel. This position requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and adherence DOT regulations. Requirements

  • Comprehensive product knowledge of automotive parts.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record, knowledge of/ability to navigate the geographic area, and the ability to lift load/unload parts and materials (up to 50+ lbs).
  • Must be able to pass DOT Medical Clearance and Regulated Drug Screen for a commercial motor vehicle driver in the State of Arizona (required to pull trailers).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience or certification as a pilot car driver Preferred.
  • CDL and Transport Driving experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the pilot car, ensuring it is in safe operating condition.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs, permits, and reports related to each escort.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and DOT regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support site operations.
