About The Position

The Pilot for Aerial Patrol at Energy Transfer is responsible for conducting aerial surveillance of company pipeline systems. This role focuses on identifying and reporting potential threats to the pipeline, monitoring rights-of-way conditions, and performing reconnaissance flights after severe weather events. The position requires a high level of flying expertise and the ability to work independently in various conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Instrument rating in a single-engine land aircraft.
  • Five years of flying experience with a minimum of 1500 hours total flight time.
  • Hold and maintain a Second Class FAA Medical Certificate.
  • Good organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively with field personnel in encroachment mitigation.
  • Proven safe driving record and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct aerial patrols of pipeline systems to identify and report third-party activities that may impact the pipeline.
  • Monitor rights-of-way conditions, including identifying washouts, exposures, and river crossing conditions.
  • Perform timely reconnaissance flights following severe weather events.
  • Report pipeline leaks and other safety concerns promptly.
