Job Description: We are seeking experienced Pile Drivers in the following areas: Wallops Island, VA Northern VA/DC/MD SUMMARY Operates pile drivers mounted on skids, barges, crawler treads, or cranes to drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures such as bridges and piers.

• Experience in marine pile driving operations including Concrete pile, H-pile, and Pipe pile.
• Understand English
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, read rule, calculate measurements.
• Ability to apply concepts of geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations.

Responsibilities

• Skilled in use of necessary hand and power tools
• Conducts pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Cleans, lubricates, and refills equipment
• Drives pilings to provide support for structures such as bridges, using heavy equipment with a pile driver head
• Moves hand and foot levers of hoisting equipment to position piling leads, hoist piling into leads, and position hammers over pilings
• Moves levers and turns valves to activate power hammers, or to raise and lower drop hammers that drive pile to required depths.
