The Pilates trainer provides specialized Pilates Reformer sessions for students of the Dance Program at Loyola Marymount University under direct supervision of the on-site Physical Therapist, contributing to the somatic wellness and injury prevention for the LMU dance community. The position is 20 hours/week; hours to be distributed Monday–Friday, a minimum of 3 days/week. This position is a 10-month assignment each year. Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities Lead 50-minute individual and group Reformer sessions. Dancers work primarily on the Reformer, although there is opportunity for incorporating some mat, Cadillac, and chair work. Follow guidelines and standards of maintaining wellness per the Wellness Lab Policy regarding illness and communicable disease. Maintain close communication with the Dance Department Physical Therapist about any dancer who reports pain or injury. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization of the equipment and of the Wellness Lab space. Keep track of missing or broken equipment, cleaning supplies and other renewable supplies and report to the appropriate person. Keep records of each Pilates session according to requirements of the LMU Wellness Lab, to include the dancer’s name, date and time, description of any problem the dancer reports and of action taken.
