About The Position

Under the supervision of the RiverPlex Recreation & Special Events Coordinator, the Pickleball Instructor is responsible for the following: Understand, interpret, and maintain the Peoria Park District and Athletic Department’s standards and policies. Responsible for teaching and instructing pickleball lessons to children and adults. Inventory equipment and make sure the environment is clean and safe for the participants. Teach classes and one-day pickleball events and clinics. Help organize and officiate a tournament. Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed; support all aspects of the Park District's safety program. Perform all other duties as required. Essential Functions: Must be able to be on your feet for multiple consecutive hours, run, jump, and lift up to 45 pounds.

Requirements

  • Individuals must be 18 years or older with preference given to an individual with training and pickleball playing experience.
  • Desire and ability to work with children and adults.
  • Possess the ability to lead others in group and individual activities, demonstrating necessary steps and skills.
  • The position requires effective communication with staff and program participants as well as the ability to respond effectively and quickly in varying situations.
  • Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for multiple consecutive hours, run, jump, and lift up to 45 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
