The Order Picker is responsible for accurately selecting parts for internal and external customer orders, ensuring correct quantities and part numbers are prepared in a timely and cost-efficient manner. This role supports warehouse operations by maintaining accuracy, adhering to safety and quality standards, and collaborating with team members to meet production and shipping schedules. The Picker contributes to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction through attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement. This role is on 1st shift, with hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and is located on-site at our manufacturing facility in Greeneville, TN.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and maintain regular, predictable attendance.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to stand for 8–12 hours per day and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 35 pounds safely.
  • Ability to operate powered industrial equipment (must complete OSHA-compliant certification).
  • Ability to drive warehouse equipment and utilize RF scanning devices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work constructively with team members and adapt to change productively.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in warehouse picking or material handling.
  • Experience operating powered industrial equipment and forklifts.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment toward common goals.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and read customer orders to identify items and their location codes.
  • Pick and count the correct quantity of the correct item from the correct location.
  • Enter appropriate information into computer systems to maintain accurate inventory counts.
  • Move inventory utilizing powered industrial equipment (PIE).
  • Keep aisles and storage locations clean and organized.
  • Locate pallets and product in designated areas for loading.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, including proper use of harness equipment, handling hazardous waste, lockout/tagout procedures, and wearing hearing and eye protection.
  • Comply with DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Donaldson’s mission and objectives.
