About The Position
The Picker/Packer - Ship From Store (SFS) plays a crucial role in delivering a premium customer experience by ensuring that online orders are picked and packed accurately and efficiently. This position is essential for making JOANN a happy place for customers by providing the best shipping experience possible. The Picker/Packer will work primarily overnight to maximize productivity, processing hundreds of orders per shift. The role requires embodying the characteristics of Hearts, Hands, Minds, and Inspire, which are integral to the company's values and mission. In the Hearts aspect, the Picker/Packer ensures that orders are received in a timely manner, prioritizing customer experience above all else. This involves asking questions and identifying opportunities to enhance internal processes that support a customer-centric focus. Continuous communication with team members and leadership is essential to identify efficiencies and progress towards goals. The Hands responsibilities include picking, preparing, and packing online orders for both the Ship from Store (SFS) and Buy Online Pick up In Store (BOPIS) programs. This involves assembling, labeling, and completing system transactions for each shipment accurately and efficiently. The Picker/Packer will also unload freight from trucks, sort it according to company procedures, and load completed orders onto trucks for delivery to customers. Participation in Loss Prevention procedures related to Omni-Channel processes is also required. In the Minds aspect, the Picker/Packer must process online orders productively to meet daily shipping quotas while maintaining high standards in the back room. This includes keeping the area organized and addressing any spills or messes promptly. Attention to detail is crucial to minimize shrink or shipping errors by following proper policies and procedures. Finally, the Inspire component involves assisting other team members to ensure that the team exceeds expectations set by Store Management. This includes working collaboratively with Store Management and other team members on various projects and assisting in training new team members on JOANN processes. Overall, the Picker/Packer - SFS is a vital position that contributes significantly to the operational success and customer satisfaction at JOANN.
