About The Position

Tune, maintain, and repair all pianos for the School of Music and the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM@UCO) on the UCO Edmond campus and at the ACM building in downtown Oklahoma City. Coordinate piano moving with outside contractors as necessary. Develop and update a maintenance plan for pianos on the UCO campus. Keep track of piano inventory and recommend purchasing as needed.

Requirements

  • Performs administrative or manual tasks.
  • Requires general education or vocational training and 6+ years of relevant experience in chosen field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to facilitate communication with faculty, staff and administration.
  • Must be committed to the highest ethical standards and demonstrate effective leadership and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to tune and maintain harpsichords, organs, and other keyboard instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all pianos for the College of Fine Arts and Design, with primary emphasis being the Music Building, Mitchell Hall, the ACM Building, and the Jazz Lab.
  • Includes concert tuning and preparation, maintenance of all pianos including regulation, voicing, repairs, and rebuilding.
  • Will work with the School of Music Piano Division Head, Director of the School of Music, and Director of the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM@UCO) to determine tuning and repair schedule for each instrument and will submit monthly report.
  • Performs other related duties as determined by the needs of the School of Music and ACM@UCO regarding the tuning, maintenance and repair of UCO pianos.
