About The Position

This is a 1099 contract position for a Piano Instructor. The role involves providing state-of-the-art and relevant instruction to members, contributing to their class/program goals. Instructors are expected to teach beginners through advanced learners, provide individual and group guidelines, critique performance, and develop and evaluate programs. The position requires maintaining open communication with program managers and a professional demeanor with all stakeholders. A key aspect is to develop and instruct fun, energetic, and highly motivational classes for all ages and skill levels, including designing instructional programs, preparing lesson plans, demonstrating techniques, and managing classrooms. The instructor must be able to speak and communicate effectively before groups and create a safe, fun, and enjoyable learning environment. The ultimate goal of spiritual, emotional, and physical regeneration of all people is to be represented and infused in all programs and operations. Requirements

Appropriate prior experience teaching or working in the area of instruction specified is required. Experience requirements will vary depending on the class.
Certification or a degree in a related field or level of expertise is required.
Where applicable, you must have up-to-date personal insurance before employment.
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have strong organizational skills and abilities.
Must be able to function effectively with minimal or no supervision.
Must be able to demonstrate various skills in the area of instruction specified.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Must have physical ability to instruct appropriate classes.
Have the ability to work and relate well with people.
Complete Safe From Harm training as established by The Salvation Army and become certified as a Safe From Harm Train the Trainer.
Before hiring, must pass a thorough background check.

Ability to speak Spanish is desired.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional demeanor and attitude with students of all ages, patrons, customers, staff, and upper management.
Ensure that any classroom changes or modifications are communicated to all classroom participants efficiently.
To develop and instruct fun, energetic, and highly motivational classes for all ages and skill levels.
Design instructional programs, prepare lesson plans and instructional materials, present subject matter demonstrating proper techniques, and perform classroom management tasks.
Ability to speak and communicate before both small and large groups of people with poise and enthusiasm.
Create, teach, demonstrate, and implement planned practices suitable for children and adults of all ages and abilities.
Provide a safe, fun, and enjoyable learning environment for all participants.
Ensure that the ultimate goal of spiritual, emotional, and physical regeneration of all people is represented and infused in all programs, trainings, customer relations, and levels of operation.
Be on time and prepared to teach your class.
