About The Position

Tanque Verde High School is seeking a dedicated Physics Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time position aims to inspire students to learn physics while promoting critical thinking and creativity. The teacher will be responsible for planning lessons, assessing student progress, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education.
  • Must meet Arizona State Department of Education requirements in respective subjects.
  • Possess a valid Arizona Teaching Certificate and a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that meets the minimum qualifications and state certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Stimulate in each student a desire to learn, promote critical thinking, and foster creativity.
  • Plan lessons and units to ensure effective instruction for achieving stated objectives and outcomes.
  • Organize and maintain the classroom in an orderly manner to maximize student potential.
  • Assess students' progress and address individual needs to provide an effective school program.
  • Monitor student activities for the safety and welfare of the students.
  • Evaluate written materials, analyze student progress, and course curriculum.
  • Inform parents of student progress and advise on instructional methods.
  • Work on improving the quality of teaching and maintain ethical standards in professional relationships.
  • Notify site administrator of special needs of students and collaborate with specialists.
  • Participate in meetings to convey and gather information required for the role.
  • May monitor the activities of a teacher assistant and/or classroom volunteers.
  • Report incidents to maintain a positive learning environment and adhere to policies.
  • Participate as a member of an instructional team to promote learning activities consistent with educational objectives.
  • Meet paperwork deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Maintain records of student work and performance to guide instructional decisions.
  • Participate in duties and activities as assigned by the Governing Board or District.
