About The Position

The High School Physics Teacher will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment that prepares students for college and future careers. This role involves executing meaningful learning experiences, maintaining high academic standards, and fostering relationships with students and their families. The teacher will work collaboratively with instructional coaches and utilize data to enhance student achievement, particularly for traditionally underserved populations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
  • Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction teaching license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Successful teaching experience, preferably in urban schools.
  • Knowledge and skills in creating a college-ready learning environment.
  • Effective classroom management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and families.
  • Passion for quality education and student achievement.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data analysis for student learning plans.
  • Familiarity with technology integration in the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Execute meaningful and engaging learning experiences, interventions, enrichment, and remediation.
  • Hold high standards for academic, behavioral, and social success.
  • Understand and follow all Wisconsin DPI teacher standards.
  • Work with an Instructional Coach to improve teaching practices.
  • Apply best practices in teaching and classroom management.
  • Promote a culture of learning, respect, trust, and responsibility.
  • Create trusting relationships with students and families, involving parents in student success.
  • Analyze data to set individual learning plans and team goals.
  • Incorporate technology into daily teaching.
  • Maintain openness to feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Update PowerSchool with grades and assignments weekly.
  • Read and respond to communication daily.
  • Supervise students to ensure safety at all times.
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of the school.
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures.
