  • Prepare lectures and laboratory presentations for physics courses.
  • Administer and evaluate tests, quizzes, and homework assignments.
  • Maintain class records and assign course grades.
  • Direct and guide departmental tutors and laboratory technicians.
  • Incorporate up-to-date apparatus and techniques into the curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental operations and meetings.
  • Conduct research and development on new instructional methods.
  • Provide interdepartmental loan service of equipment and supplies.
  • Master's in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics, or
  • Bachelor's in physics or astronomy and Master's in engineering, mathematics, meteorology, or geophysics, or
  • Equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in teaching at the community college level.
  • Familiarity with culturally-responsive teaching strategies.
  • Experience supporting historically underrepresented and underserved students.
  • Membership in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS).
