About The Position

The Physics Adjunct Faculty member is responsible for teaching courses as assigned, with a willingness to teach in person and/or be certified to teach online. The position is available for the Spring 2026 semester and includes teaching evening courses at the Cranford, Elizabeth, and Plainfield campuses.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in the discipline required unless otherwise specified.
• Some teaching experience is required.
• Unofficial college transcripts must be submitted prior to interview.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned courses in accordance with the description published in the catalog and the approved course syllabus.
• Incorporates interactive approaches, technologies, and methods into teaching when possible.
• Incorporates an appreciation of diverse lifestyles, cultures, and national perspectives into courses.
• Utilizes the library, writing, and academic technologies in courses.
• Meets all scheduled class meetings and advises the Division Dean/Assistant Dean of absences in a timely manner.
• Maintains accurate grade and attendance records for students and submits required reports.
• Submits grades by the published deadline.
• Participates in assessment of learning outcomes and uses results in course planning.
• Plans in advance for the availability of supplies, textbooks, and classroom equipment.
• Submits progress reports on students and discusses any problems requiring special attention.
• Adheres to College policies and procedures.
