About The Position

The Physics Adjunct Faculty member is responsible for teaching courses as assigned, with a willingness to teach in person and/or be certified to teach online. The faculty member must adhere to the course descriptions published in the catalog and the approved course syllabus, while incorporating interactive approaches, technologies, and methods when possible. The role includes maintaining accurate grade and attendance records, submitting required reports, and participating in the assessment of learning outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in the discipline required unless otherwise specified.
  • Some teaching experience is required.
  • Unofficial college transcripts must be submitted prior to interview.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned courses in accordance with the description published in the catalog and the approved course syllabus.
  • Incorporates an appreciation of diverse lifestyles, cultures, and national perspectives into courses.
  • Utilizes library resources, writing as an instructional method, and academic technologies in courses.
  • Meets all scheduled class meetings and advises the Division Dean/Assistant Dean of absences in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate grade and attendance records and submits required reports.
  • Submits grades per published deadline.
  • Participates in assessment of learning outcomes and demonstrates the use of results in course planning.
  • Plans in advance for the availability of supplies, textbooks, and classroom equipment.
  • Submits progress reports on students and discusses any problems requiring special attention.
  • Adheres to College policies and procedures.
