About The Position

The position involves providing comprehensive primary care services under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). The role requires a systematic assessment of patients' health status, arriving at appropriate diagnoses, and implementing care plans for effective clinical outcomes. The candidate will manage patient care and health status following the initiation of treatment and preventive plans, ensuring effective communication with patients and their families regarding their diagnosis and treatment plans. Additionally, the role includes educating patients to encourage active participation in their healthcare and documenting care according to established guidelines.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine with a degree of Doctor in Medicine or Osteopathy.
  • Several years' experience of clinical practice after residency.
  • Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana.
  • Ability to apply for credentialing in appropriate clinic insurance program(s).

Responsibilities

  • Systemically assesses patients' health status and arrives at appropriate diagnoses.
  • Implements care plans for effective clinical outcomes.
  • Considers a thorough range of treatment/preventive options and recommends age and culturally appropriate actions.
  • Manages patient care and health status following treatment initiation and adjusts as warranted.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and families about their diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Educates patients to become active participants in their healthcare and provides educational materials.
  • Seeks consultation and advises by providing adequate information to consulting physicians.
  • Documents according to established guidelines to facilitate ongoing quality of care.
  • Performs appropriate medical procedures within the scope defined by the Practice's credentialing and privileging processes.
  • Delegates direct and indirect patient care activities to appropriate personnel.
  • Responds appropriately to emergent situations.
  • Maintains and improves skill level through continuing medical education participation.
  • Actively participates in clinical quality improvement initiatives.
  • Reviews and follows up on complaints and concerns about medical care.
  • Takes action to ensure continuity of care for patients.
