About The Position

High Desert Medical Group has an exciting opportunity for a Full-time Physician to join our team in Lancaster, CA .We are seeking providers who practice medicine with excellent patient care and customer service.  We focus on making sure our providers have a sufficient amount of time to address the patient’s needs in a friendly environment. The Physician, under the supervision of the Medical Director, will work to provide quality and comprehensive medical care to specific and appropriate patients. The Physician will provide direct patient care under the guidelines of the Medical Board of California.   High Desert Medical Group has been providing excellent medical care for 40 years and is very well respected in the community. We participate in many community events to support and improve overall health, social well-being and also educate and empower citizens to take charge of their health. HDMG offers primary care and an array of specialists, including an Urgent Care Center. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved medical program as outlined in the California Administrative Code Title 16, Article 3.
  • Current unrestricted Physician license issued by the Medical Board of California.
  • Current Federal DEA license
  • Current BLS certifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to responsibly handle matters of a confidential nature.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, high-productive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all medical records by the end of each work day.
  • Complete patient call backs regarding prescription refills, laboratory results, etc., by the end of each day on which such information is received.
  • Perform full scope of his/her subspecialty skill, including, but not limited to, routine office gynecology, dermatology, occupational medicine, foot care, etc.
  • Accept nonscheduled clinic visits, such as patients referred through Urgent Care or by other Group providers, if applicable.
  • Communicate with the Medical Director regarding suggestions for improvement and all other issues or concerns.
  • Follow and adhere to HDMG’s standards of attendance policy, as it is pertinent to be available to assist nursing staff and to deliver optimal efficient care by fulfilling the patients’ expectations.
  • Obtain pertinent health history and perform appropriate physical examinations on any patient who presents for care
  • Formulate a diagnosis and plan related to the patient’s condition, and communicate those effectively to the patient.
  • Prescribe and refill medication, including controlled substances, in accordance with local, state, and federal statutes and guidelines. 
  • Function as part of the Medical Group and clinical team, covering for providers who are out, working with Case Management, collaborating with specialists and allied health professionals to maximize health outcomes.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
