About The Position

Physician will provide on-site medical services in a jail medical unit in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This position is an independent contractor position and it is expected that the physician will spend up to four hours per week providing services on-site. Hours are flexible and can be tailored to fit your schedule. This is an excellent opportunity to provide primary care services in the correctional setting. Pay Rate: $200/hr

Requirements

Must have a clear background for security clearance.
Must have current, unencumbered Alabama medical license
Training and experience in providing primary care services to an adult population
Current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Emergency Medicine is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Visit the facility weekly to see patients, prescribe medication, general referrals for outside providers
Countersign any orders or progress notes seen by medical staff
Support standards of care and supervise care given by other professionals, providing instruction as needed
Participate in Alabama call calendar rotation
Abide by the security regulations of the facility, the regulations of the institution(s) where services are provided, and QCHC policies and procedures.
