About The Position

Are you passionate about providing care to underserved populations? The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is seeking dedicated primary care physicians to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals who need it most. Please submit your CV to NDCS Medical Director Dr. Jerry Lovelace at [email protected]. Salary is negotiable based on experience. As a primary care physician, you will play a vital role in improving the health and rehabilitation of individuals who are committed to personal growth and change. Your work will be deeply rewarding, knowing that your care helps shape a healthier future for those striving toward transformation. Join us in making a lasting impact and providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare to a community dedicated to growth and renewal. Why choose NDCS? • Serve a mission-driven population: Work with individuals facing unique health challenges, offering compassionate, comprehensive care to a population that often lacks access to quality healthcare. • Educational opportunities: Encounter medical conditions that are uncommon in the general population, providing a rich and rewarding environment for professional growth and learning. • Work-life balance: Enjoy a predictable schedule with little to no on-call duty, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while dedicating your time to meaningful patient care. • Back to basics: Practice medicine the way you envisioned it would be. Provide community-based care based on actual patient needs rather than wants. No hospital association to be sold. Lose the multiple hats associated with private practice. You will have the ability to watch your chronic care management and education manifest over a period of time, improving the patients’ quality of life. • Superior benefit package: Includes state retirement, excellent health and wellness insurance and more. • Superior security: Benefit from a secure environment where safety is prioritized. With trained staff close by, the security is unparalleled compared to other healthcare settings, ensuring both your well-being and that of your patient. Salary: will be commensurate based on years of experience.
