Requirements

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine (with occupational health experience preferred).
Active and unrestricted Florida medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
DOT Medical Examiner certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage both acute injuries and chronic occupational health conditions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care and collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses.
Perform occupational health examinations, including pre-employment physicals, DOT physicals (if certified), fitness-for-duty assessments, and return-to-work evaluations.
Review and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, labs, and pulmonary function tests.
Develop and implement treatment plans consistent with occupational medicine best practices and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with nurses, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
Communicate with employers regarding work restrictions, accommodation recommendations, and recovery timelines while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to optimizing clinic workflow and patient experience.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Stay current on industry regulations, including OSHA standards, workers’ compensation requirements, and evidence-based occupational health guidelines.
