About The Position

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until December 15th, 2025. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be October 20th, 2025, with subsequent cut-off dates every 5 days. Eligible applications received after that date will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available. Requirements

  • 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.

Responsibilities

  • Treat complications arising from diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and smoking.
  • Treat patients who need hemodialysis because of kidney failure secondary to diabetes mellitus or hypertension, by creating an access in their arm for hemodialysis.
  • Treat varicose veins in the legs.
  • Consult with other physicians and refer patients to other specialists if required.
  • Discuss all the non-operative, medical versus surgical treatment options, as well risks and benefits of surgery with the patient.
  • Schedule follow-up to monitor patient's prior procedures and aneurysm size as part of well-established vascular society guidelines and advise them on suitable after care measures and medication they might require.
  • Document all medical information in an electronic medical record.
  • Instruct and educate Vascular Surgery and General Surgery Residents.
