The Vascular Surgeon will have excellent clinical skills and experience in the full range of Surgical Vascular care. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Provide direct patient care in outpatient clinic settings, inpatient units, cath lab, and operative care. Maintain professional competency, courtesy and flexibility and provide the necessary services of this specialty. Perform all aspects of Vascular Surgery within approved credentials and privileges. Participate in program planning, objectives, policies and standards essential to delivery of quality care. Participate in all aspects of the Vascular selection. Manage patient workload within available staffing, which may include support of mid-levels, student, and resident education. Appropriately documents own interventions and reviews appropriate health team documentation of patient treatment plans and involve the primary care provider when indicated to treat changes in the patient's condition. Recognizes complex situations that impact patient care and intervenes, using sound judgment, professional attitude and appropriate channels. Physician may be required to provide "medical opinions", "internal and external" peer reviews. Required to attend surgical and quarterly medical staff meetings, complete all required Talent Management System (TMS). Also, must complete all medical documentation in a timely manner as directed by the Veterans Health Administration and local CTVHCS policies. Physician must adhere to and follow all VA policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure patient safety and ensure high quality of care is provided to Veterans.
