About The Position

Physician provides assessment, management and outcome evaluation for patients’ outpatient settings. Educates patients, families and staff. University of Louisville Physicians is currently seeking a BE/BC family medicine or internal medicine/peds physician to join an urgent care plus practice in Louisville. KY. We are seeking highly skilled and experienced candidates committed to teamwork, communication, empowerment, and quality of care. The ideal candidate would provide standard care for patients of all ages. The clinic location for this opportunity is at 9409 Shelbyville Road, Suite 104. UofL Health is a fully integrated regional academic health system with nine hospitals, four medical centers, Brown Cancer Center, Eye Institute, nearly 200 physician practice locations and more than 1,000 providers in Louisville and the surrounding counties, including southern Indiana. Requirements

  • A medical degree from an accredited school of medicine
  • board certification in family or internal medicine/peds
  • eligibility for licensure in Kentucky are required
  • Possess knowledge to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.
  • Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Should be familiar with EMR systems.
  • Have excellent judgment and discretion, the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Be a team player with a "can-do" attitude that can work in a fast-paced, customer-service-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently and productively with minimum supervision
  • Shifts are 12-hour and require evenings, 8 am to 8 pm. (Sundays are 8 am to 6 pm)
  • Three shift requirement per week (156 shifts annually)
  • There is a weekend rotation requirement

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or emergency medicine is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EPIC is preferred; however, onsite EMR training will be provided
  • New graduates are welcome to apply.
