Through Connected for Kids, a pediatric joint venture between Children’s Wisconsin, Bellin Health and ThedaCare, work is underway to improve the health and well-being of children and adolescents in Northeast and Central Wisconsin. This partnership is making a meaningful impact on care for area kids through numerous initiatives, such as increasing access to care closer to home and collaborating on pediatric best practices, including for delivery of urgent care services. We will open a pediatric urgent care in our Appleton Clinic in Fall 2025. Urgent care services for kids of all ages, from newborns to adolescents, will be available seven days a week at the clinic, providing a timely and convenient new option for families. We currently seek a pediatrician to work as an acute care provider in the Children's Wisconsin Appleton urgent care clinic. The pediatrician provides appropriate acute pediatric care services. Additionally, the pediatrician maintains and complies with all OSHA standards to achieve clinic compliance.

Requirements

  • Current licensure to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Current malpractice insurance at a level of $400,000/$1,000,000 and participation in the Patient Compensation Fund.
  • Current DEA number.
  • Must be ABP (American Board of Pediatrics) eligible or ABP certified.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross.
  • CHW medical staff membership in the Department of Medicine with core privileges in pediatrics or CHW pediatric PL3.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in skills necessary to manage urgent care patients normally acquired during pediatric residency training.
  • Physically and mentally able to perform all patient care duties.
  • Good medical record documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide appropriate acute pediatric care services.
  • Maintain and comply with all OSHA standards to achieve clinic compliance.
  • Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with fellow physicians, nurses, patients, families, and other staff.
  • Document medical records with concise and pertinent entries.
  • Demonstrate ability and interest in teaching students and professionals (nurses, pediatric nurse practitioners, interns/residents).
