About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking a flexible, team-oriented candidate for an Urgent Care position in Duluth, MN. The ideal candidate will be invested in covering Urgent Care shifts across various settings. The role involves working with Credentialed Practitioners and requires strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be comfortable with suturing and splinting, and leadership skills are a plus. The schedule is flexible, with shifts planned 3-6 months in advance. Urgent care registration hours are from 9 AM to 7 PM on weekdays and 8 AM to 5 PM on weekends. The position involves seeing a low of 35 to a high of 70 patients per day, with excellent support from specialists and ancillary services. The types of cases include acute care for walk-in adults and pediatrics, respiratory illnesses, minor injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, and non-life-threatening trauma.

Requirements

• BC/BE in Family Practice or Emergency Medicine
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to multitask and strong critical thinking skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and focus on team-based care
• Comfort with suturing and splinting

• Experience in urgent care settings

Responsibilities

• Cover Urgent Care shifts in various settings
• Provide acute care for walk-in adults and pediatrics
• Manage respiratory illnesses and minor injuries
• Perform laceration repairs, I&D, and foreign body removals
• Handle musculoskeletal injuries requiring radiology and splinting
• Ensure patient-centered care and teamwork
