About The Position

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Louisiana State University Health Science Center-Shreveport is seeking an experienced and motivated leader for the Hospital Medicine Section within the Department of Medicine. This position is part of an integrated teaching hospital and health system in partnership with Ochsner Health. The role includes clinical work as a hospitalist, publishing the schedule for faculty hospitalists, and creating, tracking, and incentivizing quality metrics for the hospital medicine program. Responsibilities also involve teaching house staff and medical students, ensuring learner evaluation completion, and conducting annual performance evaluations on all hospitalists. The position includes membership on the Medical Executive Committee of the hospital and expects participation in other committees.

Requirements

• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine by ABIM
• Five years experience as a hospitalist
• Excellent skills in clinical medicine, leadership, communication, and teaching
