About The Position

The position of Physician-Scientist at Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC) involves leading the translational genetics program within the Cardiovascular, Metabolic and Skeletal disease Therapeutic Area Genetics (TAG) team. The role focuses on multimodal phenotyping, designing and implementing large-scale genetic investigations, and translating genetic insights into therapeutic applications. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to drive the discovery and development of transformative therapies based on human genetics.

Requirements

  • MD or MD/Ph.D. with a strong background in human genetics or genetic epidemiology.
  • Training and experience in translational human genetics and genetic epidemiology.
  • Strong quantitative skills and familiarity with statistical genetics applications.
  • Experience leading complex human genetics research endeavors.
  • Knowledge of study designs and analyses, including GWAS, exome, or genome sequencing.
  • Outstanding communication skills to summarize and present genetic study results.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the use of genetics in combination with other omics technologies (e.g., metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the RGC's translational genetics program.
  • Design and implement large-scale genetic and epidemiologic investigations.
  • Mine data to identify potential targets for treatment and prevention of human diseases.
  • Collaborate with scientists and clinicians in pre-clinical biology and clinical development teams.
  • Generate, summarize, and communicate results in meetings to various audiences.
  • Contribute to the writing of scientific reports and publications.
  • Apply genetic data and insights to clinical research activities.
  • Define high-quality and refined phenotypes for genetic discovery and target validation.
  • Represent the TAG team in cross-functional initiatives within RGC and Regeneron.
  • Collaborate with industry and academic partners on strategic initiatives.
