About The Position

A comprehensive Pain Management practice serving Whatcom, Skagit, and Snohomish Counties in Washington is seeking an additional Advanced Practice Provider. Our clinic is staffed by a balanced team of physicians, Physician Assistants (PAs), and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) to optimize patient care through both medication management and interventional pain procedures. We are seeking a compassionate, well-rounded provider who values practicing in a collaborative, private practice setting. This position requires the provider to divide their time between our Burlington and Arlington offices, working two days per week at each location. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination certification or Nurse Practitioner certification
  • Must meet current continuing medical education requirements
  • Ability to interpret a patient's self-report or behavior, considering the cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological effects of pain.
  • The treatment approach should be individualized, reflecting an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient.
  • One to three years of prior experience in a medical office is desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and other clinic staff.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to document appropriately in an electronic medical record.
  • Awareness of the legal implications in patient care and appropriate medical advice.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, develop, and implement care plans for patients presenting to the clinic.
  • Perform physical examinations, and gather and document medical histories.
  • Complete appropriate documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Make referrals for consultations as needed.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and families regarding recommended interventional procedures.
  • Respond promptly to patient phone inquiries.
  • Communicate with referring and primary care physicians regarding patient care and treatment.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic test results.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate.
