The Dayton VA is seeking a Supervisory Rheumatologist Physician to oversee and provide clinical care in Rheumatology. The incumbent must be an excellent communicator and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center.

  • Conduct history and physical exams
  • Perform ultrasound examinations of joints and surrounding soft tissues
  • Administer therapeutic and diagnostic aspirations and injections of joints, bursae, and tenosynovial structures
  • Perform trigger point injections
  • Conduct biopsies of tissues relevant to the diagnosis of rheumatic diseases
  • Utilize bone and joint imaging techniques and interpretation
  • Perform bone density measurements
  • Administer steroids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, including disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs, biologic and cytotoxic drugs
  • Engage in controlled clinical trials in rheumatic diseases
  • Request EMG/NGV and muscle nerve or other tissue biopsies
  • Must have 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
  • Must be board certified
