The Dayton VA is seeking a Supervisory Rheumatologist Physician to oversee and provide clinical care in Rheumatology. The incumbent must be an excellent communicator and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center.
Conduct history and physical exams
Perform ultrasound examinations of joints and surrounding soft tissues
Administer therapeutic and diagnostic aspirations and injections of joints, bursae, and tenosynovial structures
Perform trigger point injections
Conduct biopsies of tissues relevant to the diagnosis of rheumatic diseases
Utilize bone and joint imaging techniques and interpretation
Perform bone density measurements
Administer steroids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, including disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs, biologic and cytotoxic drugs
Engage in controlled clinical trials in rheumatic diseases
Request EMG/NGV and muscle nerve or other tissue biopsies
Must have 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
Must be board certified
Must be full-time
