About The Position

This job is responsible for coordinating internal and external patient referrals from providers; answers calls from the physician referral call line or assigned clinic, coordinates appointments, and provides follow-up as required while providing exceptional customer service. Will also work collaboratively with resources such as the Regional Referral Center and/or the organization's On-Call service. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years experience in appointment scheduling, customer service or related field.
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the incoming call volume from referring physicians and practices or external referral volume from physicians within the clinic.
  • Schedules appointments and procedures as requested, while partnering with internal departments and leaders to establish new patients.
  • Develops tools to track and measure success.
  • Works collaboratively with physicians, clinical care team, the Physician Liaison Representatives, Regional Referral Center, and the organization's OnCall service.
  • Represents the organization as a subject matter expert to meet the needs of the referring physicians and practices.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
