The Physician Recruiter at Meritus Health is the cornerstone of our recruitment efforts, overseeing all activities related to the recruitment and employment of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). You will directly report to the Vice President of Physician Services, ensuring our hiring process is smooth, efficient, and effective.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; equivalent experience considered.
  • At least 1 year of high-volume recruitment experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Certification as a Physician/Provider Recruitment Professional (CPRP) within 12 months of assignment.
  • In-depth knowledge of physician education, training, specialty designation, and career path.
  • Familiarity with the Meritus Health market area.
  • Strong communication skills with physicians and other professionals.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a network of support personnel and agencies within Meritus Health and the community.
  • Competence in promoting the community to both physicians and third-party recruiters.
  • Proficiency in multiple software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Some travel may be required for local, regional, and national recruiting events.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans.
  • Utilize resources such as digital advertising, specialist recruitment firms, web-based sourcing, and pipeline development.
  • Conduct initial pre-screening and coordinate on-site interviews.
  • Provide coordination for initial and subsequent visits, relocation, and orientation.
  • Participate in the credentialing and orientation process for newly hired physicians and APPs.
  • Partner with the Meritus Human Resources team to ensure employment onboarding standards are met.
  • Assist new candidates in obtaining state licensure, DEA, and pre-application for hospital privileges.
  • Participate in career days, open houses, and other activities to attract qualified candidates.
  • Act as an ambassador for Meritus Health and the community.
  • Demonstrate a passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion by welcoming providers from various backgrounds.
  • Work directly with agencies and realtors to provide a positive experience for candidates and their families.
