The Minneapolis VA Health Care System is seeking a Permanent - Full-Time Staff Radiologist to provide a full range of Diagnostic Radiology services to our Veterans. The Staff Radiologist will be responsible for providing interpretation and submission of radiology reports as required by the VA, for both the outpatient and inpatient settings at the MVAHCS. He/she is to ensure the quality and timeliness of the services provided, customer satisfaction, as well as compliance with the standards of accrediting bodies such as the Joint Commission and the Inspector General's Combined Assessment Program. He/she is to ensure appropriate use of the available resources and will be responsible for the state-of-the-art standards of care in Imaging Service and will collaborate with other services as appropriate.

  • Interprets general radiology examinations (plain film)
  • Performs fluoroscopic examinations (contrast and non-contrast) with the assistance of a licensed technologist
  • Performs MRI and some IR procedures if privileged
  • Interprets CT examinations of the body
  • Interprets general and some selected ultrasound examinations
  • Participates in Quality Management activities such as film quality review, clerical checks, peer review and other activities as required
  • Ensures compliance with the standards of accrediting bodies
  • Collaborates with other services as appropriate
  • United States Citizenship
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved school
  • Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
  • Completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Radiology
  • Body or Nuclear Imaging Fellowship
  • Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) eligibility
