About The Position

The Medical Director, Radiation Oncology at Huntley Cancer Center, Northwestern Medicine Northwest Region, will oversee various responsibilities including attending weekly chart rounds and tumor boards, promoting a coordinated, multi-disciplinary approach to patient care, and establishing a radiation oncology quality assurance and peer review program. The role also involves serving as a technology consultant, participating in hiring and training clinical staff, and providing oversight of clinical operations. The Medical Director is expected to spend an average of 4 hours per week executing these responsibilities.

Requirements

• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Radiation Oncology.

Responsibilities

• Personally attend and participate in weekly chart rounds and tumor boards.
• Promote a coordinated, multi-disciplinary approach to patient care by ensuring radiation oncology representation at multi-disciplinary conferences.
• Establish and maintain a radiation oncology quality assurance and peer review program.
• Serve as technology consultant for all existing and proposed new technology and equipment.
• Participate in NMHC's hiring, recruiting, training and assessing of clinical staff.
• Provide oversight and supervision on a daily basis of the Radiation Oncology clinical operations.
• Provide support to and participate in the radiation safety committee.
• Participate in the development of patient care protocols and policies and procedures.
• Assume other responsibilities and projects as reasonably requested by NMHC.
