About The Position

Physician –Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine (3-309-1299): The University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Baltimore VA Medical Center are recruiting a primarily outpatient clinical physician to serve the Baltimore VA Medical Center and outlying VA Clinics that are under the service area of the Baltimore VA Medical Center. The Baltimore VAMC is affiliated with the University of Maryland School of Medicine and is located on campus. Additionally, there are outlying VA Clinics that are under the service area of the Baltimore VA Medical Center such as (but not limited to): Perry Point VA Medical Center, Loch Raven VA Medical Center, and Cambridge VA Clinic. The Baltimore VAMC is an important training site for University of Maryland medical students, residents, and pulmonary and critical care fellows. The Baltimore VAMC also supports a busy research service that is integrated with the University of Maryland School of Medicine. This candidate will also have responsibility within the University of Maryland Medical Center Downtown and the University of Maryland Midtown Campus to service patients in a variety of inpatient services. These shifts will be limited, but all faculty members may have to step into certain areas in times of need. Expected faculty rank for this position is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be dependent upon selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. We offer competitive salary and benefits. Expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $195,306 (min) and $330,000 (max). The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department. The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University. Requirements

  • Medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent)
  • Eligible to obtain an independent license to practice Medicine in the State of Maryland
  • BE/BC in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
  • US Citizens
