About The Position

Southcoast Health is searching for a talented Psychiatrist to join their Consult-Liaison Service to Hospital & ED. This position is full-time, with hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and does not require weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts. The role is based at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. The Psychiatrist will be part of a proactive team-based model, collaborating with community health workers and medical teams to provide comprehensive behavioral health services across multiple hospitals.

Requirements

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification/eligibility with completion of a US residency.
  • Current state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Demonstrated clinical excellence and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide diversified emergency department and hospital-based consultation-liaison (CL) psychiatry services.
  • Meet reasonable RVU expectations while contributing to the educational component of the position.
  • Collaborate with behavioral health dedicated Community Health workers and RNs to support a patient-centered approach.
  • Participate in limited paid weekend and holiday shifts in rotation with other clinicians.
  • Supervise APPs providing ED and CL services, along with other MD staff.
  • Engage in clinical/educational relationships with institutions such as Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Brown University.
  • Lead programmatic initiatives to expand hospital-based services for Substance Use Disorders and Geriatric populations.
