About The Position

The psychiatrist performs general psychiatric assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team. The psychiatrist will work closely with their colleagues to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art mental health care.

1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Responsibilities

Perform evaluations, diagnosis(es), treatments, and preventions of mental health disorders
Perform comprehensive examinations and assessments, determining diagnosis(es), and completing medical work-ups.
Develop and implement treatment plans, referring to other specialties or appropriate community resources.
Provide appropriate clinical documentation of patient care in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) in a timely manner. Training regarding the use of CPRS will be provided by the VAMC. All documentation shall be completed in accordance with VA policy and procedures.
Ensure accreditation requirements are met for all applicable survey and inspection processes to include, but are not limited to compliance with JCHACO, CARF, and OIG
Follow all VA guidelines regarding infection control and safety.
Adhere to all quality performance measures.
Provide examinations/reviews as assigned to support Mental Health services.
Collaborate with approved fee-based community Mental Health inpatient programs to assist/coordinate discharge planning, medication and follow-up appointments, as well as, coordinating with ambulatory care services, as appropriate.
May participate in supervision of residents and medical students assigned to Outpatient Psychiatry and/or Emergency Department.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
