About The Position

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by serving in a relationship management and resource capacity for physician and advance practice provider (APP) recruitment, onboarding/orientation, retention, engagement and recognition. More specifically, it builds and maintains trusting relationships with physicians and APPs throughout the Cedar Rapids medical community.

  • Minimum 2 years of relationship management and department resource experience in a professional setting required.

  • Experience working with physicians, advanced practice providers, and C-Suite Executives preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exhibits high level of professionalism with a positive attitude while developing deep external relationships.
  • Own the scheduling and logistics of all physician and APP recruitment efforts.
  • Support physician and APP onboarding and orientation process.
  • Communicates with physicians, APPs, operational leaders regarding physician and APP recruitment, retention, engagement and recognition efforts.
  • Liaise with incoming physicians and APPs, the Mercy Medical Staff Office and the 3rd party privileging and payer credentialing organization.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources to coordinate and process MMC and MPA physician and APP employment files.
  • Support the coordination of locum tenens coverage for all Mercy Service Corporation service lines in collaboration with operational leaders.
  • Assists with retention, engagement and recognition strategies (i.e., wellbeing initiatives; 90-day new physician check-in meetings with Mercy executives; mission-related activities; etc.)
  • Own the planning and execution of physician/APP events and reward and recognition activities. (i.e., CMEs; New Provider Welcome; Mercy Honors annual award banquet; retirement receptions; Doctors' Day/ APP activities; etc...)
  • Serves as a resource for issue resolution to physicians/APPs and their practices on behalf of MMC.
  • Facilitates physician/APP referral-building and business development opportunities.
  • On occasion, works in the evening/on weekends to support physician and APP events/meetings.
  • Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.
