Our Expert Care. AuthoraCare Collective is currently seeking a PRN Kids Path Physician for our Greensboro service areas. The role involves assisting in the administration of the medical component of the patient care programs for Kids Path and serving as a medical resource to assigned interdisciplinary teams by providing hospice and palliative care expertise. The physician must be able to travel to, enter, and function in the homes of any patient/caregiver within the service area to assess and provide care to Hospice patients. Responsibilities include participating in direct/clinical care/management of Kids Path patients, providing home visits for symptom management, and ensuring the continuation of the plan of care through hospital visits if needed. The physician will also assist in administrative aspects of care including referral management, prescription management, and other care coordination tasks. Additionally, they will provide home health and perinatal consultation as requested, participate on assigned patient care committees, and may occasionally serve as the primary attending physician for a hospice patient.

Requirements

  • MD or DO; currently licensed to practice medicine in the state of NC.
  • Board Certified in an AMBS specialty.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in medical practice; two years of clinical experience caring for terminally ill patients.
  • Hospice and Palliative Medicine Board certification and Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship preferred.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license required.
  • Must carry automobile liability insurance at limits required by agency.
  • Must have own transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of the medical component of the patient care programs for Kids Path.

  • Conduct hospital visits to ensure the continuation of the plan of care.
  • Assist in administrative aspects of care including referral management, prescription management, and other care coordination tasks.
  • Provide home health and perinatal consultation as requested.
  • Participate on assigned patient care committees.
  • Participate in the patient care on-call system.
  • Occasionally serve as primary attending physician for a hospice patient.
