This position is for an Internal Medicine Physician at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, LA. The role involves diagnosing and providing nonsurgical treatment for adult patients with diseases and injuries of internal organ systems. Physicians are responsible for developing comprehensive care plans, including medical history, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals. They will confer with consulting physicians, nurses, patients, and families regarding patient care and maintain responsibility for continuity of care even when referring to specialists. Requirements

• M.D. or D.O.
• License to practice medicine in Louisiana.
• Completion of an internal medicine residency.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and provide nonsurgical treatment of diseases and injuries of internal organ systems for adult patients.
• Develop a plan of care for each patient, including complete medical history, physician examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral.
• Confer with consulting physicians, nurses, patients and patients family concerning treatment and care of patients.
• Refer those cases that require specialist services but maintain responsibility, assuring that continuity of care is provided.
