About The Position

At Boston Medical Center South, we are committed to improving the health of our communities by delivering exceptional, personalized health care with dignity, compassion, and respect. We are seeking a dedicated, board‑certified (or board‑eligible) Primary Care Physician in Internal Medicine and/or Family Medicine to join our team. The physician will provide comprehensive, continuous care in an ambulatory setting, working within a multidisciplinary, team‑based care model to support preventive, acute, and chronic care for a diverse population. This role will also involve participation in quality improvement, population health initiatives, and may include teaching / mentoring as needed.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Valid license to practice medicine in Massachusetts (or ability to obtain)
  • Demonstrated ability in outpatient primary care, managing both chronic and acute conditions
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to working as part of interprofessional teams (nurses, mid‑level providers, social workers, etc.)
  • Ability to provide care that respects patient diversity, with attention to health equity

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or interest in population health, quality improvement, or academic/teaching activities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered primary care including preventive services, health maintenance, acute illness, and chronic disease management
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, ordering, interpreting, and acting on labs, imaging, diagnostic studies
  • Coordinate care with specialists, ancillary services, behavioral health, social services, and community resources
  • Maintain accurate, timely medical records using the electronic health record system
  • Participate in population health management: outreach, registries, care gap closures, care management
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, metrics tracking, and performance goals
  • Contribute to clinic operations, scheduling, patient panel management, and clinic flow efficiency
  • Provide culturally competent care to diverse patient populations, including underserved and low‑income communities
  • Potentially supervise, mentor, teach residents, medical students, or other learners (if aligned with academic affiliation)
