Provides professional nursing care by utilizing the nursing process to care for patients within a clinical setting. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines and population health department. Observes and records treatment and patient progress while working directly with provider. Administers prescribed medications. Performs clerical nursing duties such as, but not limited to, patient referral scheduling, pharmacy coordination, and prior authorizations. Triages patients for appropriate treatment, provides education to the patient in regards to condition. Makes patient phone calls in regards to diagnostic testing results, laboratory results, or patient questions. Refills medications as necessary or instructed by provider. May perform CLIA waived laboratory procedures, ekg’s and pft’s. Has supervisory responsibilities such as, but not limited to, skills check off of other clinical personnel. Assists the Physician Practice Administrative Specialist by providing clinical knowledge for annual review of clinical staff. Analyzes nursing workflows, and appropriate nursing expectations/duties for review of clinic efficiency. Shows leadership through means of positive influence and attitude.
