The Physician Practice Patient Assistant will be supporting the needs of various ambulatory clinics, the MA will work primarily at 707 N Alvernon , but will be required to travel/visit other sites as well). This position is responsible for rooming patients, as well as collecting and recording vital signs, medical, family, & social histories. The top candidate will aid with stocking rooms, setting up for minor procedures, chaperoning, cleaning rooms, and some clerical tasks such as message pools. University Medical Center South PBCs Banner - University Medical Center South is a comprehensive medical center that includes an Emergency department, a state-designated trauma center and a Behavioral Health Pavilion. We are an Arizona Department of Health Services-accredited Cardiac Receiving Center and a Nurses Improving Care for Health system Elders-designated senior-friendly hospital. The hospital is staffed by physicians who are full-time faculty of the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson and is managed by Banner Health under an operating agreement with Pima County. Our specialty services include inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, treatment and education for diabetes, innovative geriatrics care and comprehensive orthopedics. POSITION SUMMARY This position provides a variety of administrative and clinical support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the clinic and serves as part of the care team. Responsible for performing duties that are taught with onsite education and training. Provides outstanding customer service and ensures a smooth patient flow process by providing services in admissions, scheduling patients, paperwork completion, and communication between providers and other clinical support staff.
