This role involves the detection and correction of documentation, coding, and billing errors, as well as assessing the medical necessity of services billed. The auditor will evaluate the accuracy of documentation, including E/M and other payer codes, and ensure compliance with federal guidelines. Additionally, the position requires the development and execution of educational opportunities and curriculums based on audit results and trends in coding compliance. The auditor will lead educational events for providers, provide project management support for audit and coding initiatives, and establish positive working relationships as a subject matter expert in federal coding compliance requirements.
