About The Position
Job Title: Physician – Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: San Francisco, CA Service Setting: Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Hospital (Float Pool) Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: 02/02/2026 – Ongoing (26 weeks) Clinical Shift Schedule: Weekend coverage, Saturday and Sunday, approximately 8:00a – 2:00p (6+ hours onsite) On -Call Shift Schedule: Night call for admissions following onsite coverage Call Type: Call Back and Night Call
Requirements
- Licenses: Active California medical license required
- Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
- DEA: Active California DEA required
- Certifications: AHA BLS
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of inpatient PM&R experience
- Other Qualifications: Comfortable managing inpatient rehab admissions and weekend call coverage; EMG/NCS not required
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient PM&R coverage across two UCSF -affiliated facilities located approximately 3 miles apart
- Perform weekend rounding, admissions, and discharges for inpatient rehabilitation units
- Participate in night call coverage for new admissions as required
- Perform basic PM&R procedures as clinically indicated
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary rehab teams and consulting services
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Epic EMR system
