About The Position

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), a member hospital of Dartmouth Health, is seeking a BC/BE Pediatrician to join a busy, patient-centered team of Pediatricians and Advanced Practice Providers at our Pediatric practice located in Bennington, Vermont. Position has both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities to include attending C-sections and high-risk deliveries. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off and CME support). A sign-on bonus and relocation stipend may also be available, subject to eligibility. Requirements

  • Vermont Medical License
  • Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years)
  • Active hospital staff membership

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and related administrative services to ensure timely care of patients.
  • Abide by the Dartmouth Health Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct.
  • Review records and detailed medical history from patient(s).
  • Determine appropriate diagnosis (diagnoses) and treatment plan(s).
  • Determine and order appropriate screening and diagnostic tests and studies.
  • Obtain informed consent for treatment diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and studies.
  • Interpret and evaluate test and study results.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and medical devices in accordance within specialty scope of practice and applicable rules and regulations.
  • Initiate referrals to other providers as necessary.
  • Initiate admission/discharge of patients, if applicable.
  • Provide consultation, education, and counseling regarding the management of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
  • Encourage behavioral change and assist with self-management skills to improve overall health, within specialty scope of practice.
  • Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
  • Provide patient and family-centered care.
  • Insure the patient’s right to privacy, confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Supervise APP’s as directed.
  • Participate in continuing medical education (CME).
  • Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
