About The Position

East Tennessee Children’s Hospital is seeking an additional full-time Pediatric Neurologist, serving as Medical Director to join our well-established practice, consisting of 7 physicians and 1 advanced practice provider, offering consultative, diagnostic and treatment services for a variety of pediatric neurological conditions. This position will be integral as we plan for opening a state-of-the-art epilepsy monitoring unit. This leadership position will have at least a 90 percent clinical, 10 percent administrative time ratio. As the only neurology practice in the area dedicated solely to pediatric patients, our child neurologists are committed to providing an exceptional level of care for children with mild to complex neurological conditions. We provide a mix of inpatient care including coverage of the PICU, NICU, hospital floors and scheduled inpatient EEG monitoring as well as care in our outpatient clinic. This position includes a highly competitive salary and robust benefit package, along with productivity and quality-based incentives. The ideal candidate will be board-certified, have excellent clinical, interpersonal and communication skills, 3-5 years of leadership experience and must be able to obtain an unrestricted Tennessee Medical License. This position will include a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Medicine, Knoxville. Rank will be commensurate with experience. East Tennessee Children's Hospital will launch a pediatric residency program in 2027! Requirements

  • Board-certified in Pediatric Neurology.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience.
  • Excellent clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted Tennessee Medical License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative, diagnostic, and treatment services for pediatric neurological conditions.
  • Lead the opening of a state-of-the-art epilepsy monitoring unit.
  • Manage a clinical workload with a 90% clinical and 10% administrative time ratio.
  • Cover inpatient care including PICU, NICU, hospital floors, and scheduled inpatient EEG monitoring.
  • Participate in outpatient clinic care.
  • Engage in leadership activities within the practice.
  • Contribute to the pediatric residency program launching in 2027.
