Physician - Pediatric Hospitalist - Grosse Pointe, MI
About The Position
Corewell Health is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and energetic pediatric hospitalist to join their team. The role involves providing comprehensive care for well newborns and those in the nursery, managing conditions such as hypoglycemia, mild respiratory distress/hypoxia, intensive phototherapy, and infection workups. The physician will also care for patients aged 12 years and older admitted to the hospital, attend deliveries, perform neonatal resuscitation, and occasionally consult in the emergency department. The group actively participates in quality improvement, clinical protocol creation, professional development, and other scholarly activities. This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) requiring 14 shifts (12 hours each) per month, including day and night shifts, to provide 24/7 in-house coverage. There is no outpatient work, and opportunities exist to work additional shifts for extra income.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for well newborns and those in the nursery, managing conditions such as hypoglycemia, mild respiratory distress/hypoxia, intensive phototherapy, and infection workups
- Care for patients aged 12 years and older admitted to the hospital
- Attend deliveries

- Participate in quality improvement, clinical protocol creation, professional development, and other scholarly activities
- Work in rotation providing in-house coverage 24/7, including Day and Night Shifts (14 shifts, 12 hours each, per month)
