WVUHS Medical Group seeks multiple Pathologists. The successful candidates will be expected to practice in the primary location of South Charleston, WV. Duties: Provide day-to-day anatomic (AP) and clinical (CP) services. (AP) Anatomic pathology services include, but are not limited to, daily examination of both gross and microscopic tissue for timely and accurate diagnoses (including tissue diagnoses, bone marrow interpretation, gynecology and non-gynecology cytology evaluation, proficiency testing, intra-departmental quality control support; provision of intra-operative consultations with surgeons and radiologists daily; and engage with the medical staff through administrative function. (CP) Clinical pathology include, but are not limited to, oversight of core laboratory function, particularly with clinical chemistry, hematology (and peripheral smear interpretation) and urinalysis (and body fluid crystal analysis); evaluate processes in blood bank and transfusion medicine and give timely support to providers (particularly oncology, trauma medicine, and emergency room) in regards to appropriateness of usage, response to adverse reactions, and adequacy of supply for general medical staff; quality leadership and involvement in microbiology, especially as it relates to infection control, clinical pharmacy, and antimicrobial stewardship. Requirements

  • Applicants must have a MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Must be board certified or eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology and be eligible to obtain state medical license.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
