The Orthopedic, Neurosurgery & Physiatry Service Line at St. Charles Health System provides ambulatory, procedural, and inpatient care for the health system as well as within ambulatory surgery centers. This service line includes approximately 60 providers representing the full spectrum of neuromusculoskeletal care across inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory surgery centers and clinics. The team will collaborate extensively with the Bend-hospital based acute surgery and trauma team in the development, refinement and collaboration of a robust trauma program designed to meet the growing needs of the Central Oregon community. Orthopedic Surgeons are responsible for providing medical, surgical, and postoperative management of patients having Orthopedic surgery. Each orthopedic surgeon will have a subspecialty focus to include one of the following: Sports Medicine, Total Joints, Foot & Ankle, Hand, or Trauma. In some cases, surgeons will split their practice to include one or more sub-specialty area for their practice. Orthopedic surgeons will work in collaboration with other medical specialties to assess and manage patients following established standards and practices. This position will primarily work in the Bend and Redmond hospitals, Cascade SurgiCenter and Bend Surgery Center performing elective and acute surgeries. Orthopedic Surgeons also see patients in a clinical setting and work collaboratively with APPs in the care of patients. It is up to the physician to determine the appropriate site of care for each patient based on the patients’ medical presentation.
